Where do the donations go?
Your contribution will directly help keep local citizens warm in the harsh winter months and cool in the sweltering summer.
Donations to the campaign are distributed to those in need through partnerships with the American Red Cross Heartland Chapter, which administers the Omaha Public Power District’s Energy Assistance Program and the Omaha Salvation Army, which administers the Black Hills Energy’s HeatShare Program and Metropolitan Utilities District’s Heat Aid program. Find out more about those in need here.
The net proceeds from the Heartland Walk for Warmth will benefit the energy assistance campaign. However, none of the philanthropic support raised from the campaign will underwrite costs associated with the Walk.
